Doing Business 2016 – a World Bank Group Flagship Report has become one of the world’s most influential policy publications. Since 2003 Doing Business has been publishing annual quantitative data on the main regulatory constrains affecting domestic small and medium-size enterprises through their life cycle.
The 13th edition of the report present data for 189 economies and aggregates, information from 10 areas of business regulation – starting a business, dealing with construction permits, getting electricity, registering properly, getting credit, protecting minority investors, paying taxes, trading across borders, enforcing contracts and resolving insolvency – to develop an overall ease of doing business ranking. The data are collected through several rounds of interaction with expert respondents (both private sector practitioners and government officials), responses to questionnaires, conference calls, written correspondence and visits by the team.
